Hilary Farr is an internationally-renowned designer and co-host of HGTV’s Love It or List It, a reality series about homeowners who must decide how far they will go for their dream home. But what’s her go-to hostess gift? And what’s her favorite space to make over? Find out in this Q&A!
Q: What is the best part of your job?
Hilary: "Having the trust of homeowners and seeing their delight when they see the transformation."
Q: What is your favorite paint color?
Hilary: "I don’t have a favorite - each space deserves colors and finishes that help make it unique. Perhaps I will paint the main living spaces light neutrals, or even white, and opt for a dramatic dark color as an accent, or for an intimate space such as a library."
Q: What was the best party you’ve ever attended and why?
Hilary: "A ball at Castle Howard in Yorkshire England. It was white and silver, and the place was lit by candle light."
Q: What’s your go-to hostess gift?
Hilary: "Natural essential oil, soy candles."

Hilary: "Beautiful floors."
